Offense - Ted Schlafke & Reed Manke

Ted Schlafke of Minnesota Duluth and Reed Manke of North Dakota have been named the NCC Offensive Players of the Week.

Schlafke, a sophomore quarterback from Superior, Wis., completed 31 of 51 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown and rushed 19 times for 77 yards (4.1 ypc) in UMD's win over St. Cloud St. that evened the Bulldog's NCC record to 4-4.

Manke, a senior quarterback from Detroit Lakes, Minn., completed 21 of 31 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in UND's key win over South Dakota.

Others nominated: Craig Garner, Western Washington; Zach Miller, Nebraska-Omaha; Noah Shepard, South Dakota; Ben King, Minnesota State.

Defense - Donovan Alexander & Steve Davis

Donovan Alexander of North Dakota and Steve Davis of Western Washington have been named the NCC Defensive Players of the Week.

Alexander, a junior defensive back from Winnipeg, Man., collected 10 solo tackles, including one for a loss of 11 yards and had a fourth-quarter interception against South Dakota. He also had two pass breakups.

Davis, a sophomore defensive back from Kennewick, Wash., had 13 tackles (5 solo, 8 assist) and one pass breakup in Western's win over Minnesota State.

Also nominated: Cody Ahmann, Minnesota Duluth; Jeff Souder, Nebraska-Omaha; Chad Breeden, Minnesota State.

Special Teams - Britt Baumann & Brandon Hellevang

Britt Baumann of Minnesota Duluth and Brandon Hellevang of North Dakota hav been named the NCC Special Teams Players of the Week.

Baumann, a junior from North Branch, Minn., was successful on all three field goal attempts and both extra point attempts in UMD's win over St. Cloud State.

Hellevang, a freshman from Fargo, N.D., hit both field goals and all three extra points against South Dakota. He matched is career-long with a 44-yarder and then set a new personal mark with a 51-yard score.
