Offense - Noah Shepard

Noah Shepard of South Dakota has been named the NCC Offensive Player of the Week.

Shepard, a sophomore quarterback from Thornton, Colo., rushed 23 times for 93 yards (4.0 ypr) and one touchdown while completing 14 of 25 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown as USD downed Minnesota State.

Others nominated: Danny Freund, North Dakota; Ben King, Minnesota State; Nate Wurth, Nebraska-Omaha; Jeremy Huber, Augustana.

Defense - Buddy Wood & Joel Gentile

Buddy Wood of Central Washington and Joel Gentile of South Dakota have been named the NCC Defensive Players of the Week.

Wood, a sophomore linebacker from Chattaroy, Wash., collected 16 tackles (8 solo, 8 assist) including one tackles for loss and half a sack while forcing a fumble and two pass breakups in CWU's win over Augustana.

Gentile, a junior defensive back from Council Bluffs, Iowa, had two interceptions that he returned for 35 yards, forced a fumble and had four tackles (2 solo, 2 assist) as USD defeated Minnesota State.

Also nominated: Darius Dotch, St. Cloud State; Jacob Chandler, Nebraska-Omaha; Drake Otto, North Dakota; Ryan Weinzierl, Minnesota State; Brandon McMichael, Augustana.

Special Teams - Greg Zuerlein

Greg Zuerlein of Nebraska-Omaha has been named the NCC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Zuerlein, a freshman from Lincoln, Neb., accounted for seven of UNO's 13 points when he connected on both of his field goal attempts and an extra point as UNO downed SCSU 13-3.
