Offensive - Amos Allen, Ted Schlafke and Weston Dressler

Amos Allen of South Dakota, Ted Schlafke of Minnesota Duluth and Weston Dressler of North Dakota have been named the NCC Offensive Players of the Week.

Allen, a senior running back from Miami, Fla., set a school record with 306 yards rushing on 32 attempts (9.6 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in USD's game with North Dakota.

Schlafke, a junior quarterback from Stevens Point, Wis., racked up 495 yards of total offense, a league-high for the year and the fourth highest total in league history, and was involved in a school and league-record 84 plays while helping lead UMD to a 23-13 win at St. Cloud State. He rushed 27 times for a career-best 145 yards and one touchdown (which put UMD ahead for good at 6-0) and added another 350 yards through the air, completing 37 of 57 passes while also running for a two-point conversion.

Dressler, a senior wide receiver from Bismarck, N.D., caught 10 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns as UND snapped USD's 23-game home winning streak.

Dressler's 18-yard score in the fourth quarter stood as the deciding points as UND snapped USD's school-record 23-game home winning streak. In fact, all three of Dressler's touchdowns gave UND the lead.

Defensive - Jeff Souder and Brent Holinka

Jeff Souder of Nebraska-Omaha and Brett Holinka of North Dakota have been named the NCC Defensive Players of the Week.

Souder, a junior outside linebacker from Bellevue, Neb., tallied 11 tackles (9 solo, 2 assist), including one sack for a loss of six yards and also returned a fumble 44 yards as UNO completed its first undefeated season since 1954 with a win over Central Washington.

Holinka, a junior linebacker from Dickinson, N.D., led all players with a career-high 13 tackles (three solo) and a pair of quarterback sacks. His sacks came on back-to-back plays on 3rd and 4th down with less than two minutes remaining once the Coyotes had driven to UND's 11-yard line, nulifying a potential game-winning drive.

Also nominated: Tyler Bergan, South Dakota; Randy Earl, Minnesota State; Nate Fears, Minnesota Duluth.

Special Teams - Brent Halfmann

Brent Halfmann of North Dakota has been named the NCC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Halfmann, from Stephen, Minn., three times - all of which traveled 50 yards or more - and finished with a season-high 53.3-yard punting average. One of Halfmann's punts traveled a season-long 56 yards, while another was downed on the South Dakota 1-yard line.
