Augustana Women, St. Cloud State Men Capture NCC Golf Championships

The Augustana women's golf team posted a 31-stroke victory over North Dakota to claim the North Central Conference Golf Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. St. Cloud State won the men's title with a 16-stoke lead over second-round leader Minnesota State.

The Vikings entered the day with a nine-stroke lead over then second-place Nebraska-Omaha. They were paced by medalist Courtney Belanger and second-place finisher Kelly Lauer. It is the second consecutive year for Belanger to claim medalist honors.

St. Cloud State's Travis Ross posted a five-under par 211 for the tournament and was four strokes ahead of second-place Aaron Hieb of Augustana. Hieb posted the low score of the tournament with a 67 at Prairie Green Golf Course. 

The first round was held at Elmwood Golf Course Saturday. Sunday's round took place at Westward Ho Country Club and the final round of competition was held Monday at Prairie Green Golf Course.
