Augustana 86, Minnesota Duluth 65

Sioux Falls, S.D. -- Nick Olson scored 14 of his career-high 24 points in the second half to spark Augustana to an 86-65 victory over Minnesota Duluth at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Olson helped the Vikings gain control of the game early in the second half. After leading 38-32 at the break, Olson scored 7 points as the Vikings outscored UMD 16-3 to take a 54-35 lead with 14:45 to play in the game.

The Bulldogs scored 6 straight to trim the deficit to 54-41 with 13:20 to play, but that was the closest they would get. Augustana responded with a 10-2 run, with Olson scoring the final 4 points, to increase its advantage to 64-43 with 8:38 on the clock.

The Vikings didn't miss many shots in the second half, shooting 70 percent (14 of 20), including 5 of 7 3-pointers. That helped Augie finish the game with a 61 percentage (30 of 49) for the game. UMD, meanwhile, shot 37 percent (23 of 62) for the contest.

In the first half, Augustana led the entire way, gradually building a 10-point cushion, 38-28, with 2 minutes to play in the half. But UMD scored the final 4 points of the half to trim the margin to 38-32.

Besides his 24 points, Olson added a game-high 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Joey Ryan finished with 15 points, 13 of which came in the first half. Tom Ver Douw added 12 points off the bench.

Bryan Foss was the only UMD player in double figures with 15 points.

Minnesota State 83, St. Cloud State 73

St. Cloud, Minn. -- For the second consecutive game, Minnesota State used balanced scoring attack from its starting five en route to a 83-73 victory at Hallenbeck Hall on the campus of St. Cloud State.

The Mavericks pushed their winning streak to 15 games with the victory, a mark that sets the single-season record for consecutive wins.

The Mavericks used a balanced scoring attack in the first half to push a 40-29 advantage. With the contest tied at 25-25 with 6:39 remaining, MSU embarked on a 15-4 run to close out the stanza.

Tony Thomason led MSU in the first half with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arch. Paris Kyles also contributed 10 points in the first half along with three assists.

The Mavericks shot a blistering 51.6% from the floor in the opening half, including a 57.1% clip from beyond the three-point line.

Minnesota State maintained a double-digit lead throughout most of the second half as the Mavericks connected on 10-of-12 free throws down the stretch to pull away with the victory.

Luke Anderson led MSU with a game-high 24-points on 6-of-13 shooting. Kyles added 18, while Thomason added 16. Jake Morrow added 11 points.

Santos finished with a career-high 14 rebounds, as MSU outrebounded St. Cloud State 40-36, marking the 17th consecutive contest that MSU has outrebounded its opponent.

Matt Schneck led St. Cloud State with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Eric Bergstrom came off the bench to score 11 points. Kelly Byrne pulled down 10 rebounds.

Minnesota State finished shooting 51.9 percent from the floor, while limiting St. Cloud State to 42.3%.
