Players of the Week - Allison Hubers & Katie Reed

Allison Hubers of Augustana and Katie Reed of Minnesota State have been named the North Central Conference Softball Players of the Week.

Hubers, a junior from Pipestone, Minn., hit .533 (8x15) in five games at the Northwest Missouri Classic. She collected eight RBI, seven runs, five walks, a double and a homerun while only striking out once.

Reed, a sophomore from Center City, Minn., hit .538 (7x13) in five games at the Northwest Missouri Classic. She chalked up seven RBI, two runs, three walks, two doubles, two stolen bases, one homerun and three walks. Reed hit a go-ahead three-run homerun in MSU"s second game against Fort Hays State.

Also nominated: Olivia Graham, St. Cloud State; Ellen Coby, Minnesota Duluth; Leslie Svoboda, Nebraska-Omaha; Lindsey Gaustad, North Dakota.

Pitcher of the Week - Melissa Negrete

Melissa Negrete of Nebraska-Omaha has been named the North Central Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Negrete, a freshman from Omaha, Neb., collected four wins in four appearances last week with a 0.30 ERA. She pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Upper Iowa with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Negrete was in the circle for 23 2/3 innings, allowing one earned run and 10 hits (all singles) while striking out 17 batters and only allowing six walks.
