Kuster Highlights All-NCC Softball Team as Four-Time Selection

Nebraska-Omaha pitcher Cheris Kuster earned All-North Central Conference honors for the fourth time in her career and highlights the All-North Central Conference Softball team announced today by the conference office. In all there are seven repeat selections to the 19-member squad, including one four-time selection, two three-time selection and four two-time selections. Kuster is the 22nd player overall and the fifth UNO player to be a four-time honoree.

Minnesota State's Samantha Rohr earned the league's Most Outstanding Player award while Minnesota Duluth's Kristin Danielson was tabbed as Freshman of the Year. Rohr is first in the league-only stats in wins (8), innings pitched (51.2), strikeouts (7.45 per seven innings) and appearences (9) and is second in opponent batting average (.194), games started (tied, 6) and ERA (1.22). Danielson holds a .382 batting average, tenth best in league play, and is ranked third (tied) in triples (4) and ninth in on-base percentage (.447).

Lori Meyer of Minnesota State earned Coach of the Year honors. Meyer's 2007 squad won the regular-season NCC title and is the top seed entering today's NCC Championship with a 10-1 NCC mark and a 40-12 overall record. It is the seventh time that Meyer has been honored by her peers with last previous laurel coming in 2003.
