Players of the Week - Casie Hanson & Jenny Gensch

Casie Hanson of North Dakota and Jenny Gensch of St. Cloud State have been named the North Central Conference Softball Players of the Week.

Hanson, a junior outfielder and catcher from St. Peter, Minn., hit .550 (11-20) last week in six games. She collected three homeruns, seven RBI, six runs and a double while only striking out twice.

Gensch, a senior from Apple Valley, Minn., hit .500 (4-8) in two games in Kansas. She tallied two homeruns and four RBI while scoring three runs.

Others nominated: Treighton Yates, Nebraska-Omaha; Lynndi Decker, Minnesota State.

Pitchers of the Week - Kaity Strever & Meagan Teal

Kaity Strever of St. Cloud State has been named the North Central Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Strever, a sophomore from Laurel, Mont., allowed no earned runs while picking up two wins in 12 innings of work. She struck out four batters while allowing only nine hits.

Teal, a junior from Savage, Minn., gave up only three earned runs in five games (28 innings, 0.75 ERA) while striking out 39 batters in Florida. She allowed only 11 hits in the effort and struck out 11 batters in a game twice and 12 against Wisconsin-Parkside.
