Player of the Week - Casie Hanson

Casie Hanson of North Dakota has been named the North Central Conference Softball Player of the Week.

Hanson, a junior from St. Peter, Minn., hit .778 (7-9) in four NCC games last week. She collected two homeruns, five stolen bases, a double and scored five runs.

Others nominated: Krystal Kirwan, South Dakota; Sonja Muck, Minnesota Duluth; Jess Anderson, Minnesota State; Lizzy Dwyer, St. Cloud State; Leslie Svoboda, Nebraska-Omaha.

Pitchers of the Week - Meagan Teale & Brittany Donohue

Meagan Teal of Minnesota State and Brittany Donohue of South Dakota have been named the North Central Conference Softball Pitchers of the Week.

Teal, a junior from junior from Savage, Minn., posted a 3-0 record in two starts and a relief appearance. She allowed three earned runs (1.24 ERA) and eight hits while striking out 24 batters in 17 innings. Only of the eight hits was for multiple bases (a double).

Donohue, a sophomore pitcher from St. Paul, Minn., had a career-high 14 strikeouts as USD downed North Dakota. She had a 1.66 ERA (three earned runs) in 12 2/3 innings with 20 strikouts while yielding 10 hits.
