Tuenge, Liggins, Rains and Dilling Earn Track and Field Honors

Tahnee Tuenge of Nebraska-Omaha and Terry Liggins of South Dakota have been named the North Central Conference Indoor Track Athletes of the Week while Jim Dilling and Katelin Rains of Minnsota State have been named the North Central Conference Indoor Field Athletes of the Week.

Tuenge, a junior from North Platte, Neb., won the 800-meter run at the Graphic Edge Classic in Vermillion, S.D. with a time of 2:15.63. It is the first time that Tuenge has run the race in competition and the time is the best in NCAA Division II competition this season.

Liggins, a junior from Omaha, Neb., broke his own DakotaDome record in winning the 60-meter hurdles at the Graphic Edge Classic. Liggins set the record with a time of :08.06 in the preliminaries and the won in the finals with a time of :08.08. The faster time is the fourth best mark in NCAA Division II competition this season.

Rains, a sophomore from Spring Lake Park, Minn., placed second at the NCAA Division I-dominated Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic, clearing 12-4 1/2. The mark is the top mark in NCAA Division II so far this season and bettered her provisional qualifying mark as well.

Dilling, a senior from Fond du Lac, Wis., cleared 7-1 to win the high jump at the NCAA Division I-dominated Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic.

The marks by Tuenge, Liggins and Rains are provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships while Dilling performance is an automatic qualifier.
