Rolfe, Wahle, Smolczyk and Moir Earn Swimming & Diving Honors

Leita Rolfe of South Dakota and Marty Wahle of Minnesota State, Mankato have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Jill Smolczyk and Cole Moir of South Dakota have been honored as the NCC Divers of the Week.

Rolfe, a junior from Newcastle, Wyo., sparked the women's team to a second place finish at the Point Coaches Classic at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point on Nov. 10-11. Rolfe had another outstanding performance this season with three individual wins and by helping the 800 freestyle relay to a win (8:03.08) at the classic. She won the 400 individual medley with a clocking of 4:40.01 and the 200 freestyle in 1:58.54. Rolfe also captured the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.04. Rolfe also had a "B" cut in the 200 individual medley with a clocking of 2:11.55.

Wahle, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., placed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:55.54, which broke the old Maverick school record of 1:56.01. Wahle also grabbed a first place finish in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:20.80 at the Point Coaches Classic.

Smolczyk, a junior from Omaha, Neb., Omaha, Neb., picked up a pair of wins at the Point Coaches Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Nov. 10-11. Smolczyk won the 1-meter diving competition with 414.65 points and the 3-meter board with 390.78 points.

Moir, a senior from Cody, Wyo., swept the diving competition and helped lead the USD men's team to a second place finish at the Point Coaches Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Nov. 10-11. Moir won the 1-meter board on Saturday with 405.35 points in the 1-meter competition. He won the 3-meter board with 368.80 points on Friday.
