Rolfe, Dowswell & Smolczyk Earn Swimming & Diving Honors

Leita Rolfe of South Dakota and Benjamin Dowswell of Minnesota State have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Jill Smolczyk of South Dakota has been tabbed as the NCC Diver of the Week.

Rolfe, a senior from Newcastle, Wyo., won the 400 individual medley (4:35.04) and finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:55.51) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.03) in dual meets with Truman State and Nebraska-Omaha. All three times are "B"-cut times for the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.

Dowswell, a junior from Coquitlam, B.C., won the 50 butterfly (:24.14) and 50 free (:22.35) and helped the MSU relay squads to wins in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay in a sprint meet with Fairfield.

Smolczyk, a senior from Omaha, Neb., won the 3-meter event with a national-qualifying time of 473.39 and finished second on the one-meter board with a 358.80 score in duals with Truman State and Nebraska-Omaha.
