Minnesota State Dominates First Day of NCC Indoor Track & Field

Minnesota State leads the men's and women's division after the first day of the North Central Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in the DakotaDome.

Minnesota State claimed five of the six events on the men's side and three of the six women's events. The MSU men hold a 75 to 68 advantage over second-place South Dakota while the Maverick women have a 49 to 39.5 point lead over second-place South Dakota.

Only six events of each gender were finals on first day with the preliminaries setting up the finals on Saturday, the final day of the meet. Molly Belling of Nebraska-Omaha set a new NCC record with a :07.62 time in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash.
