Three Repeat Selections Highlight All-NCC Soccer Squad

Nebraska-Omaha and Minnesota Duluth combined for nine members on the 11-member All-North Central Conference women's soccer first team selected by league coaches. Nebraska-Omaha's Beth McGill was selected as the league's Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year and Elizabeth Kelly of St. Cloud State was selected as the Freshman of the Year. Don Klosterman of Nebraska-Omaha was named the Coach of the Year.

McGill was named to the team for the third consecutive year while teammates Amanda Iwansky and Amber Richardson were selected for the second time.

McGill led the league in every offensive category for the second consecutive year with 52 shots, 30 points, 11 goals (tied) and eight assists while being tied for second in game-winning goals (3).

Kelly led the league in saves per game (8.29), was fourth in save percentage (.811) and sixth in goals against average (2.01).

Klosterman is both being honored as Coach of the Year for the second time with previous laurels coming in 2002. The Mavericks will begin defense of their NCAA Division II Soccer Championship when region play begins today in Omaha, Neb. The Mavericks hold a 41-3-1 mark in NCC play under Klosterman since UNO added women's soccer in 2000 and have appeared in four consecutive Final Fours.
