Beth McGill's second goal of the game, with 58 seconds to play, forced an overtime and the Mavericks then survived a shootout with Washburn to advance to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals against Grand Valley State Nov. 11.

Officially, the game will go down as a 2-2 tie after the teams played through two 10-minute overtimes. UNO converted three of four penalty kicks in the overtime to just one for Washburn.

No. 1 ranked UNO, now 19-0-2, will play at Grand Valley State next Saturday in the quarterfinals as it continues to try and defend its national championship.

This will be the Mavericks' fifth-straight trip to the national quarterfinal match. UNO defeated Grand Valley State, 2-0, in last year's quarterfinal, played in Omaha in the only previous meeting between the two teams.

In the first game of the regional tournament, Beth McGill gave UNO an early lead and Amber Richardson scored a pair of second half goals to secure a 3-0 win over Central Missouri.

Washburn, 15-1-5, advanced by winning a shootout over Missouri Southern after the teams played to a 1-1 overtime tie in the first game Friday. Lauren Schwindt scored for Washburn at 39:10 and Missouri Southern tied on a goal by Amy Davis at 47:45. Washburn won the shootout, 4-2.

McGill, UNO's all-time leading scorer, converted a crossing pass from Brandie Beale in the box for her 20th goal of the season just 7:28 into the game.

Richardson scored her eighth of the season from 30 yards at 56:15 and her ninth of the year on a similar shot into the right side of the goal at 73:37.

UNO outshot the Jennies 20-7 for the game, with Beale getting six attempts to lead the Mavericks. UNO's Ellen Petersen made six saves in earning her 15th shutout of the year. UCM goalkeeper Elizabeth Casey made eight saves.
