North Dakota Holds Slim Lead For North Central Conference Cup

North Dakota holds a slim two-point lead in the standings for the North Central Conference Cup through the fall season. The top three teams in the standings are within three points of the Fighting Sioux. North Dakota has 33 points at the conclusion of the fall season. Augustana is in second place followed by Nebraska-Omaha and Minnesota State.

Nebraska-Omaha leads the women's all-sports trophy standings with 21.5 points by capturing the championship in soccer and golf while finishing tied for second in volleyball and fifth in cross country. North Dakota and Augustana each have 18.5 points good for second in the women's race. Augustana finished second in cross country, golf and volleyball (tied) while North Dakota captured the cross country title.

North Dakota is leading the men's all-sports trophy standings with 14.5 points. The Fighting Sioux tied for the football title and were third in golf and fourth in cross country. Augustana and Minnesota State are second in the men's standings. Augustana posted a tied for first in golf, a third place finish in cross country and a tie for fifth in football while Minnesota State won the cross country and tied for the men's golf championship and finished eighth in football.

This season marks the fourth time that The North Central Conference Cup is being awarded. The recipient of the Cup is determined by adding together the points received in the Men's and Women's All-Sports Trophy standings.
