Players of the Week - Kyle Blahnik & Kyle Resser

Kyle Blahnik of Minnesota State and Kyle Resser of St. Cloud State have been named the North Central Conference Baseball Players of the Week.

Blahnik, a sophomore infielder from Red Wing, Minn., hit .750 (6-8) in games against Concordia-St. Paul and Mary. He collected two doubles and a homerun and scored two runs to tally 10 RBI.

Resser, a senior from Bonney Lake, Wash., had a successful Arizona trip where he hit .500 (21-42) in 11 games. His tally included six RBI, 11 runs, four doubles, a triple and a homerun. Included in the totals was a standout game against Mary on March 2 where he went 4 for 5.

Pitchers of the Week - Tom Schmidt & Mike Lueck

Mike Lueck of North Dakota and Tom Schmidt of Augustana have been named the North Central Conference Baseball Pitchers of the Week.

Lueck, a junior from Victoria, Minn., pitched a complete-game, eight-hit, 5-1 win over Winona State in Florida. Lueck struck out eight in the game while yielding no earned runs. He also pitched one inning against Kentucky Wesleyan where he struck out one and gave up two hits and one earned run.

Schmidt, a freshman from White Bear Lake, Minn., tossed a complete-game, four hitter against Missouri-St. Louis Sunday. He had a perfect game for 5 2/3 innings before giving up a single. He finished the game, which Augie won 8-3, allowing four hits, three earned runs while striking out 10.
