South Dakota 27, Minnesota Duluth 14

  Vermillion, S.D. -- South Dakota Football Team used an outstanding effort from its defense and the running of Stefan Logan to secure a 27-14 win over Minnesota-Duluth before 6,133 in attendance.

  South Dakota recorded its 16th straight home victory. Logan had 155 yards on 22 carries and also returned a punt 66 yards to paydirt. 

  Led by Blake Hoyer, the defense held the vaunted UMD offense in check. A year ago, UMD rolled up 56 points and more than 500 yards in total offense. Today, they had just 312 yards on 74 plays and scored 14 points with the final score in the final seconds of the game.  

UMD quarterback Ted Schlafke finished the day completing 33 of 50 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. He was also intercepted twice. Greg Aker was on the receiving end of 12 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown.

  Hoyer had nine tackles, two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a quarterback sack. Overall, USD recorded three quarterback sacks, eight tackles for loss and recovered two fumbles.

Nebraska-Omaha 38, Western Washington 10

  Bellingham, Wash. -- Kyle Kasperbauer rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries as Nebraska-Omaha scored on all five of its first-half possessions and went on to a 38-10 victory over Western Washington at Civic Stadium.

  Kasperbauer led a Maverick rushing attack that rolled up 414 yards on 53 attempts. UNO had a 500-288 advantage in total offense.

  Quarterback Zach Miller added 130 yards and a touchdown rushing on 12 carries and was 5-for-5 passing for 78 yards and a touchdown for the Mavericks while playing just the first half and the opening series of the third quarter.

  WWU's James Monrean completed 19-of-32 passes for 225 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. He was 13-of-21 for 173 yards in the second half. Travis McKee was the top target with eight catches for 117 yards.

Augustana 21, Minnesota State 16

  Sioux Falls, S.D. -- Augustana's Tommy Flyger passed for 179 yards and two touchdowns to guide the Vikings to a 21-16 victory over Minnesota State at Howard Wood Field.  

Flyger connected to Tommy Ellingworth nine times for 83 yards and one touchdown whil Ryan Rothenberger had four catches for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Ellingworth also passed for one touchdown.

  Nick Ovenden led the Augustana defensive corp with 12 tackles while Dustin Rice contributed 10 tackles and forced a fumble.

  For MSU, Ben King finished the game 29-of-54 for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrell Smith caught six passes for 59 yards, while Brian Alberty ran the ball 13 times for 56 yards and caught 12 passes for 106 yards. Tony Hunter led the defense with 10 tackles.

  The win gives Augustana a six-game winning streak, it's longest since the 1959-60 seasons when the team won seven straight contests and the three-game conference streak is the longest since 2000.
