Offensive Player of the Week - Ryan Chappell

Ryan Chappell of North Dakota has been named the NCC Offensive Player of the Week.

Chappell, a sophomore running back from Grand Forks, N.D., rushed 28 times for a school-record 306 yards and two touchdowns in UND's win over Central Washington. The yardage total was only 31 yards shy of the NCC record of 337 set by SCSU's Harry Jackson in 1989.

Defensive Players of the Week - Randy Earl & Tyler Yelk

Randy Earl of Minnesota State and Tyler Yelk of Minnesota Duluth have been named the NCC Defensive Players of the Week.

Earl, a sophomore defensive end from Racine, Wis., collected 10 tackles (4 solo, 6 assist) including 2.5 sacks for a loss of 22 yards and an additional 1/2 tackle for loss against Augustana.

Yelk, a junior free safety from Arlington, Wis., collected 14 tackles (8 solo, 6 assists) and an interception against South Dakota.

Also nominated: Jeff Souder, Nebraska-Omaha; Blake Hojer, South Dakota; Nate Pirak, Central Washington; Derek Malner, North Dakota.

Special Teams Player of the Week - Gerald DeWet

Gerard DeWet of Minnesota State has been named the NCC Special Teams Player of the Week.

DeWet, a freshman punter from Utica, Minn., posted six punts for 252 yards (42.0 ypp) with four landing inside the 20-yard line and a long of 52 yards against Augustana.
