Offensive - Brian O'Neill

Brian McNeill of Nebraska-Omaha has been named the NCC Offensive Player of the Week.

McNeill, a junior running back from Philadelphia, Pa., rushed 28 times for 237 yards (8.5 ypc) and three touchdowns as Nebraska-Omaha downed North Dakota 28-17 in a battle of the leauge's two unbeaten teams. The 237-yard effort was the fifth best rushing performance in UNO history.

Others nominated: Tyler Schulte, Augustana; Brooks Little, South Dakota; Weston Dressler, North Dakota; Ben King, Minnesota State; Johnny Spevak, Central Washington.

Defensive - Grant Smith & Dustin Rice

Grant Smith of Minnesota State and Dustin Rice of Augustana have been named the NCC Defensive Players of the Week.

Smith, a senior defensive end from Farmington, Minn., tallied a school-record 4 1/2 sacks for a loss of 35 yards as Minnesota State downed Minnesota Duluth. Smith finished the day with nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assist) along with another tackle for loss on top of his sacks. As a team MSU tied a school record with seven sacks in the game.

Rice, a senior defensive back from Lead, S.D., returned an interception for 36 yards and a touchdown and blocked a punt in Augie's win at St. Cloud State. For the day he also had seven tackles (5 solo, 2 assists) and a pass breakup.

Special Teams - Jason Donnelly

Jason Donnelly of Augustana has been named the NCC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Donnelly, a junior kicker from Elk Point, S.D., on top of averaging 61.7 yards per kickoff (70.3 ypk with an offside kick removed), Donnelly recovered his own onside kick and also recovered a punt return fumble when he was on punt coverage in Augie's win over St. CLoud State.
