Men's Basketball: January 3 

Jake Morrow of Minnesota State and Nick Olson of Augustana have been named the North Central Conference Players of the Week.

Morrow, a sophomore forward from Wild Rose, Wis., averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in wins over Concordia (Moorhead) and Carleton.

Morrow shot .593 (16x27) from the field, including being successful on 8 of 14 three-point attempts (.571). He posted a career-high 28 points against Concordia, the highest total for a Maverick sophomore since 2004.

Olson, a senior forward from Eden Prairie, Minn., averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game in a quartet of wins over Wayne State, Illinois Tech, Upper Iowa and Southwest Minnesota State.

Olson hit 24 of 44 shots from the floor (.545) and 11 of 15 free throws (.733). His 24 points against Upper Iowa is a career high and his 12 rebounds in the same game is a season-high performance.
