Tyler Cain of South Dakota and Jadee Jones of Minnesota State have been named the North Central Conference Players of the Week.
Cain, a sophomore forward from Rochester, Minn., hit 8 of 8 field goals in leading South Dakota back into the NCC winning column at North Dakota. He finished the week with a 90.9% (10-11) field goal percentage in two games. He also set a single-game USD record with 10 blocks against Hastings and back it up with five denials at North Dakota.
Cain averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 blocks, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Jones, a junior guard from Apple Valley, Minn., scored 26 points on the strength of 9 of 11 field goal shooting (81.8%) to lead the Mavericks to a win over rival St. Cloud State. He hit 6 of 7 thee-point baskets (85.7%) in the game and both of his free throws while grabbing four rebounds.
