Players of the Week - Denny Johnston & Ervin Youmans

Denny Johnston of Nebraska-Omaha and Ervin Youmans of North Dakota have been named the North Central Conference Players of the Week.

Johnston, a senior forward from Omaha, Neb., scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds while dishing out four assists in leading Nebraska-Omaha to a 105-91 win over #7 Emporia State. It was the second time in as many games that UNO has knocked off a top-10 opponent.

Johnston shot 69.2% (9-13) from the field including 3 of 5 from behind the three-point arc.

While the North Dakota winter was howling outside, Youmans, a senior guard from desert-like Hobbs, N.M., was hot from the field against Mary and Minot State. He hit 16-of-19 of his shots from the field (84.2%), including a torried 77.8% (7-9) from three-point land.

For the week, Youmans averaged 21.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
