Maxwell, Pereira, Edelbrock & Jimerson Earn Swimming & Diving Honors

Allison Maxwell and Pedro Pereira of North Dakota have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Kayla Edelbrock and Nate Jimmerson of St. Cloud State have been honored as the NCC Divers of the Week.

Maxwell, a freshman from Williston, N.D., won the 400 individual medley (4:37.95), 200 butterfly (2:07.62) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.55) and finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:09.81) at the UND Invitational. She was also the member of two winning and one fourth place relay teams.

Pereira, a junior from Barra Do Pirai, Brazil, won the 200 freestyle (1:43.62) and 100 breaststroke (:56.79) while finishing fourth in the 100 butterfly (:52.88) at the UND Invitational. He was also was part of three winning relay teams.

Edelbrock, a freshman from St. Cloud, Minn., tallied national qualifying marks on the one-meter and three-meter boards at the UND Invitational. Edelbrock opened the Invite on the three-meter, finishing in first place with a score of 258.95. On the one-meter, Edelbrock completed the day in second place behind teammate Kelsey Berkeland, scoring 253.30 points.

Jimerson, a sophomore from Apple Valley, Minn., set a new school record on the one-meter board with a score of 302.25 and a first place finish at the UND Invite on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007. The previous school record was 302.00, which was set by Jeremy Frye in 1998. Jimerson capped off the day with a first place finish on the three-meter board, scoring 306.90 points. Both scores for Jimerson were national qualifying marks.
