Nebraska-Omaha won the women's division by a mere 1 1/2 points and North Dakota captured the men's title at the NCC Swimming & Diving Championships that concluded today. On the women's side, Nebraska-Omaha overtook day three leader North Dakota to win with a 1148-1146.5 score while the UND men had a 1435 to 1204 advantage over second-place St. Cloud State. The meet began on Wednesday and was comprised of a morning and evening session each day.

The women's 100 freestyle had the NCC record set twice on the day. In the morning prelims, UNO's Jessica Hessel set the new mark with a :51.11 time only to have it broken in the finals by UND's Carissa Gormally with a time of :51.08.

One other record was set in the final women's event in NCC history when the North Dakota 400 freestyle relay of Natalia Busso, Brittney Jamerson, Steffany Bachmeier and Carissa Gormally set a new record time of 3:28.55, but it was not enough for the Sioux to regain the lead that UNO had taken in the 200 breaststroke.

The title is the ninth consecutive and 21st overall for the North Dakota men and the second for the Nebraska-Omaha women with their only other title coming in 2005.
