Gordon, Wahle, Kluth & Hoenig Earn Swimming & Diving Honors

Megan Gordon of South Dakota and Marty Wahle of Minnesota State have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Emilie Kluth of South Dakota and Michael Hoenig of North Dakota have been honored as the NCC Divers of the Week.

Gordon, a senior from Grand Rapids, Minn., set two individual records and was part of a record-setting relay as USD edged North Dakota 123-120. it is the first time in school history that USD has defeated UND. Gordon set an individual pool (meters) record of 1:06.29 in the leadoff leg of USD's winning women's 400 Medley Relay, which established a school and pool (meters) record in 4:32.36. Gordon also set the school-pool (meters) record in the 200 backstroke (2:24.89). In addition, Gordon achieved two NCAA provisional (B) cuts in the lead off backstroke leg of the 400 Medley Relay (1:06.29) and the 200 backstroke (2:24.89).

Wahle, a junior from Fort Collins, Colo., claimed victories in the 200 individual medley with a mark of 1:58.83 to go with a win in the 100 backstroke in :53.39 in a dual with Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Kluth, a senior from Columbus, Neb., won both diving events in USD's dual with North Dakota. Her scores were 252.75 on the one-meter board and 245.45 on the three-meter board. Her one-meter score is a qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

Hoenig, a junior from Williston, N.D., won the one-meter (241.85) and three-meter (262.90) competitions in UND's dual with South Dakota.
