Rolfe, Moraes, Chaussee and Bancroft Earn Swimming & Diving Honors

Leita Rolfe of South Dakoota and Daniel Moraes of North Dakota have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Sarah Chaussee of Minnesota State Moorhead and Chris Bancroft of North Dakota have been honored as the NCC Divers of the Week.

Rolfe, a senior from Newcastle, Wyo., had five wins, helping South Dakota to wins over Minnesota State and Northern Iowa. Against MSU, Rolfe had an NCAA Division II provisional cut in winning and setting a USD pool (meters) record in the 200 IM (2:25.90). She also was a member of the winning 400 free relay (4:07.73). Against UNI, Rolfe had individual titles in the 200 free (2:11.25), 200 breaststroke (2:45.86) and as a member of the 200 medley relay (2:02.98).

Moraes, a sophomore from Salvador, Brazil, won the 100 freestyle (:46.88), 100 backstroke (:52.81) and was a member of two "A" cut winning relays - the 200 medley relay (1:36.59) and 200 freestyle relay (1:28.21) at the UND Open.

Chaussee, a senior from Forest Lake, Minn., won the both the one- and three-meter boards at the UND Open. She posted national-qualifying scores of 260.00 on the one-meter and 267.30 on the three-meter.

Bancroft, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska, also posted two national-qualifying scores in sweeping the events at the UND Open. He had scores of 301.95 on the one-meter and 286.40 on the three-meter board. Both scores also broke UND school records.
