Evans, Schultz and Martinsen Named Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Heidi Evans of North Dakota and Lindsey Schultz of Augustana have been named the North Central Conference Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week while James Martinsen of Minnesota Duluth has been named the North Central Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Evans, a senior from Roseau, Minn., won both the 3000-meter (10:15.41) and 1500-meter (4:33.96) runs at the Florida State Relays. The mark in the 1500-meters is a provisional qualifying performance for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships while the 3000-meter time narrowly missed the mark.

Schultz, a junior from Lakeville, Minn., set a new Augustana school record in the shot put at the Stanford Relays. She placed second in the "B" section with a mark of 43-11.75, a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Martinsen, a senior from Ashland, Wis., won the shot put with a throw of 49-4 1/4 at the St. John's Invitational.
