The champions of the final North Central Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships made sure that there was no doubt about who the champion was as both South Dakota and Minnesota State posted impressive victories to close out the North Central Conference. South Dakota claimed the women's title with a 255-164 count over second-place Minnesota State while the Minnesota State men took home the plaque with a 283.5 to 167 margin over second-place South Dakota. The USD women's tally of 255 points sets a league-record and it is the fifth straight NCC outdoor title while Minnesota State men captured it's third outdoor title in the last four years.

The meet schedule was altered dramatically Friday afternoon when a weather-releated decision was made to make all events finals on Friday night with only the 3000 steeplechase, 3000 meter run and 5000-meter runs left for Saturday morning.

The only NCC record to fall at the meet occured in one of the few Saturday races when Rachel Stangler of Augustana covered the 3000-meter steeplechase course in a time of 10:34.85 to better her own record of 10:54.50 set last year.
