Players of the Week - Katie Winkelman & Ashley Freerksen

Katie Winkelman of Minnesota Duluth and Ashley Freerksen of Nebraska-Omaha have been named the NCC Players of the Week.

Winkelman, a senior from Morris, Minn., had a 24-point, 10-rebound game as UMD held off South Dakota. She shot 53.8 percent (7x13) from the field and hit 9 of 10 free throws.

Freerksen, a senior from Des Moines, Iowa, averaged 21.0 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Mavericks got in the conference winning column with victories over Augustana and St. Cloud State.

Freerksen shot 41.2 percent (14x34) from the field and hit all seven of her free throws. She had a 25-point, seven-rebound game against Augustana. She also averaged 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game.
