Player of the Week - Mitch Albers

Mitch Albers of Nebraska-Omaha has been named the North Central Conference Player of the Week.

Albers, a freshman guard from Papillion, Neb., erupted for 19 second-half points, including one stretch in which he scored eight straight points to give UNO the lead for good late in the second half, as the Mavericks down North Dakota. The win locked in home court for the quarterfinal round of the NCC tournament.

He finished the game with 25 points on the strength of 7 of 10 shooting from the field, including a perfect 2 of 2 from three-point range. He also knocked down 9 of his 10 free throw attempts, pulled down two rebounds and had two assists and three steals.
