UNO to Host NCAA Soccer Central Region

Nebraska-Omaha is the top seed and will host the NCAA Division II North Central region tournament Friday and Sunday at Ak-Sar-Ben Field in Omaha. UNO is the lone NCC team to make the four-team field.

Nebraska-Omaha will be joined by Washburn as the second seed, Missouri Southern State as the third seed and Central Missouri as the fourth seed. All three teams other than UNO are members of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

Nebraska-Omaha, the defending NCAA Division II Champion, as reached the final four in the last four seasons. UNO won its third straight NCC soccer crown by posting a 11-0-1 NCC record. The lone blemish came as Minnesota State tied UNO in their first meeting of the season. It is the first time that an NCC team has gone through the NCC season without a loss since UNO did it in 2002. The Mavericks have finished either first or second in the league since 2002 and have never finished lower then third in the league standings since adding soccer in 2000.
