Four NCC Teams Qualify for NCAA DII Cross Country Championships

Four teams, NCC champions North Dakota women & Minnesota State men and both Augustana squads, qualified for the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships by virtue of their finish at the NCAA DII North Central Region Cross Country Championships held today in Wayne, Neb. In addition to the team qualifiers South Dakota's Tyler Wetering, the reigning NCC champion, and Amy Linder and Minnesota Duluth's Eric Atkinson qualified as individuals.

It is the first time since 1993 that both Augustana teams have qualified for the national meet. It is also the first time either Viking team has advanced to nationals since the region was realigned to include the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which has traditional national powers Adams State and Western State.

The NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships will take place November 18th at the Escambria County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Fla. as part of the NCAA Division II National Championships Fall Festival.
