Stangler, Hargens, Erlandson and Dilling Named Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Rachel Stangler of Augustana and Scott Hargens of South Dakota have been named the North Central Conference Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week while Kali Erlandson and Jim Dilling of Minnesota State have been named the North Central Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stangler, a junior from Albany, Minn., placed third in the steeplechase and ninth in the 3,000 meters at the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines. She had a time of 11:08.99 in the steeplechase, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and the seventh best time in NCAA Division II this season. She then turned in a time of 10:18.43 in the 3,000 meters, which narrowly missed a qualifying standard.

Hargens, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D., posted a time of 1:50.92 in the 800-meter run at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. The time is a career best and ranks second in NCAA Division II this season. The performance placed him eighth in the event.

Erlandson, a senior from Albert City, Iowa, won the high jump at the Long Beach Invitational with a career-best mark of 5-8 3/4. The jump was the fifth best in NCAA Division II this season.

Dilling, a senior from Fond du Lac, Wis., unleashed the top mark in NCAA Division II competition this season when he cleared 7-4 1/4 to place third in the Invitational division at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
